Five sessions and eighty-two minutes were what WhoKares7871 needed to answer every question Sakhal's infected posed and none of the ones his own stomach did.
“He survived everything with teeth. The thing without teeth is what closed the file.”
The file shows seven separate confrontations with the local dead, one of them a nineteen-hit gauntlet that left him clinging to a quarter of his health and, evidently, feeling triumphant about it. He never fired a shot at another living soul — zero kills, a clean sheet, the record of a man who wanted no part of anyone's war. He simply never found anything to eat, which on Sakhal is its own kind of combat, and the only one this file says he lost.
