Lilmearnsy arrived on Sakhal with no history anywhere on the continent and departed thirty minutes later, having outfought the infected four separate times and lost a war of attrition against an empty stomach.

The worst of the four encounters left them clinging to a quarter of themselves, ten strikes deep, and still they walked away from it. Whatever instinct kept them upright through that did not extend to logistics. Three separate sessions were spent on this file, which suggests deliberation rather than panic, and deliberation is exactly what makes the ending so hard to forgive. There was time to plan. There was no food.
